Home again, home again

The Juki Basic Training was completely fabulous, and I’d highly recommend it for anyone who owns the Juki QVP-2200 Longarm.

I learned a ton about the proper care and feeding of my machine, but I’m completely flummoxed by a couple of over-tightened screws on my machine. I’ve been told you can get a special screwdriver with a hood shaped end that can fix it? Any suggestions?

I finished this ruler and freehand quilt shortly after getting home and proceeded to get gawdawful sick for the next few days. Someone at class had a cough that sounded pretty bronchial, and I’d wager I’m not the only one who picked it up. I wound up in urgent care because my immune system is suppressed from the RA meds, and they gave me a big shot in the ass of antibiotics. I spent this weekend mostly laying in bed and coughing, but rallied enough this afternoon to start quilting my pumpkin quilt that I pieced last year. Only a few more days, and it won’t be seasonal at all, so I decided to put my last couple of charity quilts on hold and do my pumpkins with a meander on the computer from Urban Elementz. It’s looking pretty good, but I really want to go back to honing my free motion skills.

I was so pleased with the Juki training that I’m hoping to go do the advanced training in Chicago in February that Karen Pharr said was planned. Why else would anyone go to Chicago in February?

Oh, and I bought the Juki couching foot for my machine! Finally there’s something else fun to do with some of the handspun I’ve made over the years.

I’m also planning to move the longarm out of my garage after the New Year. It’s probably going into the upstairs bedroom. Or maybe I’ll move into the bedroom and put my longarm in the master. We’ll see. I might just put it smack in the middle of the living room!
